You’re move Radiohead. Also could someone get Mattel on the line, tell them to step up R&D on the hoverboard?
I know they won’t play this song since it isn’t an ‘official’ release, but got damn would it be awesome to hear it live, especially if/when the crowd sings Nate Dogg’s verse:
Give me that bomb in-stru-mental/Straight from gangbang central
RIP Nate Dogg Coachella won’t be the same without.
If I had won the $640 Million Dollar lottery I would PAID Dre to let me be a fly on the wall during a studio session. Even if he charged me the full $640 million it would have been well worth it.
New music from the kid who is reminding the world the West Coast hasn’t fallen off, featuring the Dr they tell you to go see when your record sells aren’t doing to well. I’m already anticipating K. Dot’s performance at Coachella, his debut album, hearing this song at Coachella, most likely on Sunday night, Detox, but most importantly I can’t wait for those summer nights at dusk when you are heading out to buy some more alcohol for the pool party where all the girls are dressed in next to nothing, the grill is steady cooking the best meats, and you hop in your car, drive down Clinton St real slow blasting this song on your way to Sherman’s Liquor, passing the girls in the cut offs who turn their heads to see who is bumping that good shit from Dre.
If you haven’t experienced something like this in your town, come down with me for one of my family summer parties………and that’s what makes this song a hit to me. Because it can evoke those kind of memories from me. Like the song says: We got the women, weed, and weather….Welcome to LA.
This is important news for 2 reasons:
1. Detox is never dropping (for better or worse)
2. Maybe I can get Dre to produce the feature version of my horror short film. Which would allow me to not be a rapper and work with the good doctor, thus completely one of my life goals. My other life goal? To hear Detox.
Kendrick Lamar talks about his new album, working with Dre and working with Game. Look Out For Detox.
Karen Civil interviews Kendrick Lamar on various topics including the MTV Hottest MC Snub (I have my own opinions on that list), ScHoolboy Q, the death of Alori Joy, and working with Dre & Pharrell.
The most interesting part for me about this interview was the last question where they asked him about the records he made with Dre for Detox. He says they made 10 hot songs in 3 days, but only 1 MAYBE is worthy of being on Detox. That’s not saying that Kendrick Lamar is not a good artist or those Dre beats are weak, it is saying that Dre is such a perfectionist that out of 10 tracks, a whole fucking CD worth of music, only 1 is good enough to be MAYBE featured on Detox. When Detox drops, hip hop will forever be changed. It will never be released.
Detox is never coming out. Not when shit as awesome as this is announced. So far Detox has ‘official’ guest appearances from: Snoop Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound, Game, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, Lil Wayne, Drake, Jay-Z, Akon, Lady GaGa, Slimm Tha Mobsta, Bishop Lamont, Slaughterhouse, T.I., Ludacris, Rick Ross, and Young Jeezy. Now those are just the ‘official’ list that I can remember off the top of my dome. I know there are more. I’m pretty sure Detox is going to be a double disc.
Is this a preview of whats to come at Coachella?
Dr Dre Preforms ‘Still D.R.E.’ at LIV in Miami
In attendance, Lil Wayne, Fab, & Wiz. Can you imagine Wayne on proper Dre track? Shit I’ll even take the mixtape FA-BO, or a Snoop & Wiz track. Shhheeeeiiiiiiitttttt anything new from the Doctor is ok in my book.
Am I the only one who things Dre is being held hostage in these recent photos? I feel like someone needs to go into the MMG offices and bust out the good doctor. Where is Freddie Gibbs when you need him?
Now don’t take the above statements as a diss, I am HUGE Ross supporter and everyone who reads this blog knows how big of a Dre fan I am, a collaboration between the two would be fucking awesome, ugh (Ross Voice). But I can’t be the only one who sees this picture and the previous one and immediately thinks: Dre’s been kidnapped.
